Taking a deep breath she kept her eyes on their hands while she tried to think of where to start. “Um…well truth…” she looked over at him hoping he wouldn’t think this was crazy, “…I’ve never been in a real relationship. No facebook status changes just a few dates here and there but nothing that’s lasted longer than a few weeks. I’ve just always felt scared, like it’s just another thing I can screw up. You know what Lauren’s like; perfect…” She thought back to when they were kids and how everything she did was second best. Even though she decided first that she wanted to be a doctor her parent’s took it oh so much better when Lauren made the announcement before she graduated from college.

Running her fingers through her hair with her free hand she looked back up at him, “I always just figured why change what isn’t broken. Go on a few dates, have a little fun, focus on my career and life will be good. Then you came along and even before the elevator I found myself falling…but Lauren had dibs and made that perfectly clear…I knew…felt she was better for you so again just stuck with Party Girl Becs…” She hoped it made sense, that he wouldn’t run but understand and maybe this was the start of something that could help them fix this.

Tristan stared at his hands, breathing in. “Wow.” He wasn’t exactly expecting her to open up as much as she was. He knew that she always felt lower than Lauren. “You are so much better than your sister.” He looked over at her. “Your sister is one of the most stuck up girls I have ever met. Besides, her trying to get up on this isn’t cute.” He laughed and looked over at her, taking her hand. “It’s alright, I’m understanding what is going on in that head of yours.”

“Well, me. I have honestly never had a real relationship. I did before my dad cheated.” He breathed in and looked down at their hands together. “It was one of those things where I would have done anything for this girl, but as soon as I realized how broken relationships could be, that’s when I realized my girlfriend was a bitch.” He let out another chuckle. He looked over and bit on his lip. “I don’t know, watching my mom be so broken over someone who was suppose to be true to her and be in love with her, I just can’t even think about giving my heart to anyone else. I never thought I would ever do that…..until I met you.”

Miss me? I certainly missed the hospital and everyone. Mostly the surgeries though.

Do I count as a surgeon?

Don’t worry Tristan, I missed you too. How’ve you been?

I’ve been pretty good, how about you?

Not even these white lab coats can keep me warm.

One of the many reasons why I hate hospitals. Oh well.

Put your lab coat in the dryer, works every time.

You and me || Tristan & Rebecca

She walked over and sat next to him, smiling. She scooted back against the wall as her hand rested gently on his leg. “I want to tell you things, everything but I don’t know how. I’ve only relied on myself and trusted only myself for so long…it’s hard to open up but you…you make me want to Tristan.” This was the most forth coming she ha ever been with a guy. She still didn’t say much but for Becca that was leaps ad bounds.

Smiling at him she locked their fingers together, still smiling. The kiss reminded her of every reason why she allowed herself to feel something for him, why he was different. Whenever he was with her Tristan had this way of making her feel like she was special, that she wasn’t the other Habis sister; no one had ever been able to do that no matter how hard they tried, their parents included. “So..honesty hour both ways? Maybe see what the hell is going on,” se said with a light laugh. Se just wants to talk this out with him.

Tristan watched as she sat down next to him, as she talked. He never thought of it as other people having problems as well. He nodded his head. “Yeah, I had it all figured out until I met you.” He whispered. He looked down at his hands and took her hand, lacing his fingers with hers. “Alright let’s talk.” He said with a chuckle.

Tristan laid back on the bed he sat on and looked over at her. “Alright, you go first so I can see how honest we have to be.” In all honesty, he wanted to listento her talk. Listen to the thoughts going on in her head.

“I was in the middle of a medical mystery! Excuse me for forgetting to call!” She thought that being a doctor too that Tristan would get it but when he started talking and saying the opposite of what she thought he was thinking she slowly looked back over at him. Now she was sure she was dreaming…did he really think those things? Before she could ask or say anything else BAM his lips where on hers. It took her a second to realize what was happening but then her hands were on his and she was kissing him back.

When he got up and walked away, Becca was confused at first and just say there unsure of what to do but when he motioned for her to follow she got up, leaving her food on the table. As she caught up she just followed him into the hospital wondering where they were going. “Tristan I really dot want to ruin this but where are we going?”

Tristan walked in silence. He didn’t answer her. His heart was pounding from the kiss, he felt light headed and his knees were weak
He hated but loved the feeling. He walked towards one of the on call rooms. He wasn’t planning on having sex or anything. He wanted to be alone with her, gossip was probably already flying around. The doctor that never stepped out of line was stepping out od line with Rebecca. He walked into a on call room and pulled her in, shutting the door behind her.

Tristan moves her up against the door and kissed her again, slowly but with passion. He wasn’t going to ruin a moment with her. His hands went onto her face to keep her lips against his. He missed it, the feeling of her lips against his. The part of him that was scared was mute, he in that moment didn’t give a shit anymore.

When he headed to the on call room adrenaline began to pulsate through Becca’s entire body. She slowed down but only for a moment. Walking in behind him she remained silent. Tucking her hair behind her ears she stepped towards him, going to talk again but he stopped her with another kiss. Her back pressed against the door, her lips tangled with his everything just faded away and again it was just them, just Tristan and Becca. She wanted to just kiss him and stay in that moment but self control was starting to run thin.

Slipping a hand behind her back she locked the door followed by gently caressing his chest till her hands rested on his waist. Kissing him back more deeply she pulled him closer to her. She had almost forgotten how good of a kisser he was and how much se wanted him. Pulling back for a minute she swallowed hard as she just stated at him unsure of what to do next, “Wow…”

His breathing was heavy when she pulled back. She knew how to kiss him right. “You took the word right out of my mouth..” Tristan whispered against her lips. He pulled back and walked over and sat on the bed and looked over at her. “So I interrupted you while you were trying to talk.” He smiled at her.

Tristan sat there, watching her. The kiss ran through his head, the way her hands moved. He loved it. He didn’t when think about his dad, the way he cheated without a single thought in mind. His mom cried for months. Tristan never saw his father after that. His father had tried to contact him but he wouldn’t let himself see him or talk to him. Here with her was contentment.

“That makes sense. Besides salad is good for you.” Tristan said softly. He looked down at his hands that were now folded around his coffee. He laughed as he took a sip of his coffee. He scratched the back of his head and chewed on his lip. His eyes couldn’t leave hers and he wasn’t even sure…

Tristan looked down at his sandwich, he picked it up and took a bite of it as he nodded his head as she talked. He chuckled and finished up the bite in his mouth before speaking. “Well. Those are the best elements of a salad.” He gazed up at her, he saw her the way he did before, the only thing he needed to do was to clear his head of the hurt and stop being a little bitch.

Tristan tensed up when she started talking about Michael. His eyes darted down to the table. Is that why she missed their date? For that tool? He played with the bottom of the cup. He was crushed the night she stood him up that he dragged his ass to a bar and somehow woke up in his room. He didn’t want to bring it up with her or look at her so he avoided her, worked from home. It was over a month ago so he felt it was alright to see her, but now that they were sitting here talking about it all he wanted to do was punch his fist through a wall or at Michael’s face. He cleared his throat. “Oh. So you two had a case together?” He calmly let the words come out of his mouth without hinting a slight of jealousy and anger. He nodded his head as she talked. “Alright if what?” He said as his eyes finally gazed up to her face. He swallowed. “I uhm, missed you as well.”

“Yeah, mysterious exotic bug bite neither of us had seen before…” Did Tristan think she had hooked up with him? She hoped not but knew there was a good chance he did. Her reputation although not terrible still made her seem like all she wanted was fun but for the longest time that was all she did want. Tristan was the first one to make her question this but still even though he was sweet, caring, genuinely a good person Becca just couldn’t bring herself to commit. Yet another side affect f being the other Habis.

“I know I missed our date…” she whispered with a guy wrenching pain,”…but do…do you think…” she stopped herself. Her focus on the salad she was just now picking at and playing with she was to scare to finish talking, he had no reason to give her another chance.

“Oh.” Was all that came out of Tristan’s mouth. He wasn’t sure how he was feeling right now. All the emotions from that night came flooding back through his body. He licked his lips slightly and kept his eyes connected to the table. Did she hook up with him? He saw the way Michael looked at her, he was attracted to her. Tristan couldn’t blame him, but when him and Becca hooked up she ran to her other stratching post and that’s when it hit him. The hurt, rejection. He breathed in.

His eyes finally moved up to her as she spoke. Tristan breathed in. “Yeah, you did.” He said coldly. He looked to the left and closed his eyes. She was going to ask him for another chance. He let out a sigh as she chickened out. “I am not really sure what you want me to say, I finally give you a chance and you ditched me for a guy that likes to eye fuck you at work.” He let it come out, he thought he was over it but apparently he wasnt

“What? Dr. Sector? No…no Tristan it’s not like that with him,” she tried explaining, “It’s just work. We’ve never even…I haven’t…” and now she was defending herself. Something she never did nor cared to do. Dropping her fork in the plastic salad bowl as she tucked her knees up into her chest as she looked away trying to figure something out. She knew she didn’t handle what happens between them well but it wasn’t like se cheated on him.

Becca didn’t know what else to do or say. Tristan seemed to be making it clear he more than likely wasn’t going to give her a chance so why try. Taking a breath she folded her arms as she tried to think of something anything to say and hat came out probably was wrong but the only words she could form were, “I’m ways going to be that girl…aren’t I…”

“But still, you never called. You never told me you needed us to change the date. You just forgot.” Tristan whispered. He kept his eyes on her, staring at her. “What girl? The one that haunts my thoughts every fucking minute of everyday? The one that everytime she is in my view of sight I stop everything I’m doing just to watch her? The one that I want to fucking kiss every second of the day? The girl I want to leave the hospital with every night. The girl I could see myself having a future with. The girl who everytime I’m on a case with her I need to gaze at her..the one I just..”

Tristan stared at her and leaned over the table and grabbed her face, kissing her. He didn’t when care that they were surrounded by doctors. He rather so it in public than in private. He kept his lips against hers for couple seconds than pulled back. His eyes opened to look at her. He got up and grabbed his trash and walked to the trash can and looked back at her, hinting at her to follow him.
